Do you wear much make-up yourself?

Not really the strongest thing I do is a smoky eye. I’m kind of a natural person, I’m earthy and chilled and laid back and it suits me better to have less. Sometimes I wish I could experiment with colour, but I’d rather do it on somebody else’s face.

Do you have any skincare products that you really love?

Yes, I’ve just found this amazing new product and I can’t stop raving about it. It’s this Irish brand called Elave and no one’s really heard of it, but it’s just phenomenal. It’s for very sensitive skin and it’s made from really purified water and shea butter. It’s just a really good skincare line and it’s all about that at the moment. I’m always experimenting with new products from manufacturers so I never really use anything off the shelves. There are many good products, I’m a huge fan of Olay, and I think their products are fantastic. I also really like E45, Skin.NY and Crème de la Mer.

Do you go for regular beauty treatments?

In fits and starts. I like to try out new products so I do try and go. I should actually have more facials but I just haven’t got time at the moment so I’ve been a bit slack, but I do have acupuncture every week and there’s a lovely lady who comes and gives me massages when I come back, which is like healing and massage points all in one, it’s really holistic and really good. I don’t like massages that follow a routine, they should work with however your body is at the time. Also acupuncture is something that I absolutely swear by, I think it’s amazing for your balance. I try and have facials a lot in New York; I’m there a lot.

What products wouldn’t you leave the house without?

I wear mascara every day so I wouldn’t leave the house without it and my bag has probably got eight glosses and two lipsticks in it. It’s just full, I’m addicted to balms - I’m trying to create the perfect one. I also always carry rescue remedy around with me. I’m into holistic things.

How has your beauty regime changed through your life?

Well, one thing my mother was very good at was getting facials, she was really into good skin and she taught me a lot. I’m like a robot when I come in at night - taking off my make-up and washing, cleansing and moisturising is part of my life. I can’t go to bed with make-up on, I never have. So I’m quite disciplined on that. I think what’s changed is not me, it’s formulations, so what was around 10 years ago is so different to what is around now. I don’t really tone my face anymore, I just cleanse at night. It’s not as complicated these days; you’re not packing on and layering too many things on your skin.
